is there a mod that has the equipment without the other changes? having the lower hit chances doesnt look like fun but the equipment looks awesome

Why do your enemy strikers have acceptable armor. Every vehicle I've found has like 500 armor and 100IS, even convoy vehicles on half-skull missions. I haven't gotten a single kill on any of the four playthroughs I've tried!

What are its game difficulty settings?

So does the mod actually change game play or just the type of gear that's available? What makes it "rogue-like"?

you shouldnt get instantly Broke becuase of 1 Drop, that simply makes no Sense, that any Mercanary would accept a Contract where he didnt get a Payout wich at least pays the Drop Cost´s. OFC u can say for the Salvage.... But even here.... No one would Drop for (a example) 2Mio C-Bill without not even have a Vague Idea that they might can Salvage a really good Mech or Weapon. (Yeah i know the Cost is off, but u only get really lless Payouts for a Mech, if this isnt changed in the mod and u still get only aroun 300K for a Full Light Mech, than that didnt is worth at all)

the lower hit chance makes no Sense at all for called shot. A Called Shot is a Aiming Shot.... If you take your time to Aim on a Speicific Target u didnt miss more as if you hit "out of hips" just to be fast. A better solution would be a Called Shoot needs one Turn to Aiming and than you can Fire.

I don't want to beat on modders, but this wasn't very good. The first time I played this no one could actually hit anything even at point blank range - neither me nor my enemies. The second time I came to play it the mod had uninstalled itself and my savegames didn't work. Overall, not worth it: The Wolfhound appears, but it's just a renamed Panther with no noticeable graphical differences. There's powered armour too, which is just a shrunk down Firestarter. Maybe someone will like it, but I didn't.

You are German, right?

Thanks for posting this video; I think I'll give it a shot. I'm not thrilled about all the lore-breaking tech tho.

Man, this is a much harder and more complex sandbox mode. More power to you for playing it, but I wouldn't enjoy it.

That SJW tech shit really killed the franchise for me after 25 years of fandom. If companies ban users for uttering critique its time to say goodbye

is the marauder in? thats all i need to know

ballance and pacing is like striped out of this one.

too hard to hit thing going both way. enemy sprays useless missiles and you miss more than half of shots.

i'm still playing the regular campaign, but indeed, lots of thingsi wanted to see seems present here : operation costs so it makes sense to not always go full-assault, also evasion not being removed when getting shot at so that light mech are not worthless in late game.
these guys are smart, since they reached the same conclusions as me =)

i'll definitely try once i finish the vanilla campaign

Oh... what is this? An AC20 tank -.-

Wow he got a much better starting line up than I did... Here's what I had. Blackjack, Catapult, Urbanmech x2, & Panther. Only the Blackjack had clan tech installed.

Try Blackjack x2, Urbanmech x2, and a locust... yeah after two missions a restart was needed.

this is awesome. where did you get this mod at?

That is stupid they didn't unlock all the Lost tech during campaign

I think the greatest thing that could happen for Roguetech would be for it to be officially recognized by the devs. Its an amazing mod that puts the sandbox mercenary unit gameplay into the game. I love Battletech's story, but after playing that twice, this, is amazing.

@3:47 in the video "I like this lady". Is that not the or one of the main character portraits from Homework Deserts of Kharak? If it is then the mod team will need to address that as a possible legal issue?

Heya Molten, just to say, the plasma cannon uses gauss ammo because we (modders) are not currently able to ADD ammo types to the game, we can only use current ones in different ways.

There needs to be a mod that makes it so that a miss is actually believable. In vanilla Battletech it’s really immersion breaking when someone misses by like 10 mech widths. It’d be so much more believable and immersive (aswell as less infuriating) if misses were much more subtle. Sorry if I’m getting a bit nit picky here but little things like this do matter.

Murderkai It's important to realize that real-time, everyone's shooting on the move. In tabletop it was more apparent because the turn order was more intricate. BattleMech weapon systems are pretty shit at stabilizing themselves as well, so it isn't too surprising that when a weapon misfires it often does so spectacularly.

ive never gotten the Erinya, i think all 5 are random. and ive never gotten a heavy. usually 3 meds 2 lights

I definitely want to download this mod!

Just do it :)

how you get the expanded galaxy and so on? i clicked new game and it doesnt have

It's a mod called Roguetech. The instruction how to get it is in the description of the video.

For NSS, think of it as essentially stealth armor in MWO.

Having re-read the first 15 Battletech books, this tech looks like it could very well be an offshoot of the same tech used by Wolfs` Dragoons, it makes logical sense considering Jaime Wolfe and his Dragoons have worked with every major Clan house from 3005 upto current Game year of 3025 and end of the 3rd Succession War. The Dragoons are still under contract to House Kurita at current game time, near enough to House Liao and the periphery to make this feasible. The Dragoons used EWS and ECM Suites, Command Modules Advanced materials and Advanced weaponry such as the Gauss Rifles LB-X weaponry and extended range stuff, now considering the Clan Wars won`t happen for another 24 years (game time) if they keep to this path, I can see this Mod working really well ( yeah I know it breaks a lot of things ) but so too will the ClanWar tech / Comstars ComGuard tech. What really interests me is where this mod can really go? 3026-3028 being the start of something huge in the Battletech Universe ( No spoilers sorry peeps :) )

Loving how much this mod has done already. I do hope they add in an option to keep the campaign enabled though, I'd love to play through the story with all that added depth.

Wow this feels really similar to megamek. And saladins are still scary here as well.

wow your mech warriers need glasses missed alot of good step ons

You lucky bastard I have been farming for that particular Firestarter for days now! And you just throw it off like it's a junkie normal Firestarter and don't give it the respect its mounting points deserve..

I've been finding sensor lock to be even more essential than it was before in this mod. Guess I got lucky to get a pilot who has it right away.. along with a Catapult with dual heavy PPCs!

I want to love this mod, butat the start of a mission my camera went psycho, on my 3rd reinstall of the base game trying to fix the issue in any way possible

TAG is for missiles if I remember they board game right.

I like the idea in general of what they want to do. But i don't like them making it harder to hit in general. There were many things that held the old tabletop game back, one of those was length of a game. You put 2-3 lances on a board and you could expect a 3-5 hour game depending on the dice rolls(usually 4/5 or 5/6 pilots) or knowledge of the players. Options for advance rules and different tech levels are fine. But what i always wanted from a battletech tabletop video game was something like the free javascript game megamek. It has all the mechs in cannon, optional rules you can turn on/off, and lets the computer handle all the math calculations in the background. That game with better graphics. That's what i was hoping this new Battletech game would be. I'm fine with them taking there time and not rushing the timeline. But what i really want from them is true combined arms with large battlefields. A game with tons of varieties' of tanks/vtols/meks,naval units/aerotech units/infantry etc. And that didn't run super super slow.

Don't get me wrong i'm happy with where were at. But in this particular case i'd like it to either NOT increase the length of games or at least make it optional over time.

Yes i know i don't have to play it. I'm just trying to phrase my point in a way that makes sense ;p.

What struck me was your point about not reducing pips like the base game did. That was the main thing that killed table top battle tech for me. Light meks aren't viable either way when you have two 8/12/8 spiders jumping back and forth into the same heavy forests seeing who can roll 12's first. Talk about an exercise in futility, and at least with the new game they tried to figure out a way to address that, and i was happy with it for sure.

dont care for this mod.

Okay...

Hey interesting stuff about the randomisation 'helper.' I was asking a designer friend about this recently, and he told me this pseudo-random approach is actually the norm. So for example, say you have a 90% hit chance - sounds great, but with truly random there's no guarantee against rolling the 10% miss over and over again (any XCOM players here? XD ) With a pseudo random system looking at your results over time, it means those shots *should land about 90% of the time*, which is more in line with what players expect, and a less frustrating experience.

(I should say I have no idea how XCOM does it, but JEEZ I missed a lot of 90%ers in that game)

On a related note, I saw someone griping about random fails on the Fallen London forum a few years back, and the response was pretty much "oh well, that's RNG" (but in good humour, it's a nice community). But one of the devs replied, it doesn't matter how well the player understands the background systems or probability in general - if they're accepting a seemingly low risk and getting kicked in the teeth repeatedly, their experience of the game is frustrating and seemingly unfair. Even if they're rare cases, that's not something you want as a developer, and so things like pseudo-randomisation help bring the communicated risk in line with player expectations.

WTF Firestarter with 20 small weapon hardpoints? o.O i want one!!!!

I can't get roguetech to work properly it crashes after 2 or 3 missions.:(

glad to see the modders hitting the ground runnin on this game, i was finding the load-out system to be basic less thn half way intot eh campaign.

"We have gunnery guts!" I don't know why I find that so funny.

If I had to guess, the type of ammo is dependant upon which one is first in the slots. So you'll go through the enhanced ammo first, then load the reg ammo once that is depleted.

Soooo...

Bulwark made harder to get
Sensor Lock made harder to get
Evasive Movement improved
Ace Pilot improved
Evasive charges not removed by attacks
Sprint/attack equipment added
Evasion+ equipment added
Space/Tonnage exchange equipment added

Sounds like somebody likes small mechs and hates big ones, to the tune of 8 balance changes >_>'
Is ANY big mech without jumpjets supposed to be viable here?

Big 'Mechs are still super durable, and light 'mechs are still made of paper. I think it still balances out, especially when you remember that larger 'Mechs have more weapons to offset the low hit chances, and can just rip the arms off of a light 'mech and beat it to death with them.

EDIT: alright, the accuracy penalty for having move and jumped helps a bit.  Still, I would revert the Sensor Lock/Master Tactician switch and probably some other changes

Question: Did you also install the recommended mods (better sorting etc...) or is this a vanilla RogueTech install?

yes I did.

Oh yeah great mod, only cause the game to soft lock every other mission forcing you to kill it and restart.

I see some 40k influence in this game now.

BT started in the early 80s, when did 40k first show up?

Does the modifications works in Mac iOS?
